Q & A About Our Affiliate Program
What does it mean to become a Fight Like A Girl! "Affiliate"?
Becoming an Affiliate means taking a leading role in the fight against breast cancer.
It means helping to promote the cause by helping to promote this organization and its mission.
It means helping to spread the word, to show others the way to wear the colors of courage.
It means fighting, and yet it's incredibly easy to do.
How does it work?
Authorized affiliates receive clickable hyper-linked banners and tags to place on their websites, in their outgoing emails, and on their social networking pages, so that others can find www.FightLikeAGirlOnline.com.
When people click those links, they’re taken directly to our website, where they too can join the fight.
Affiliates benefit by helping to promote awareness and connection among women and those who love them – those who would help us to fight, cure, and even eventually prevent breast cancer.
And by assisting in this unique community-building effort, affiliates are able to raise money for their own organizations by earning commissions on product sales that occur when visitors find www.FightLikeAGirlOnline.com through the unique banners assigned to each affiliate.
Your affiliate banners will be assigned to you and only to you, so that you get credit (via direct deposits into your PayPal account) with a commission each time someone purchases a Fight Like A Girl, LLC product at our site.
And, you can share your affiliate banners with others in your organization, your friends, your family – anyone who wants to help you spread the word and grow the community.
Each time someone clicks through to www.FightLikeAGirlOnline.com via your link – wherever they are – your organization gets the commission credit after a 30-day waiting period (to allow for the occasional product return and/or refund).
Does my organization get to keep the commission money generated from sales that occur through my unique links?
The money is yours, excepting applicable taxes, of course.
We don’t take out taxes, though we do require that you complete a W-9 tax form.
You and your organization decide how to use that money.
We encourage you to donate at least 20% of your earnings directly to a breast cancer support organization or resource of your choosing, and to post notice of this (with pictures, we hope) on our Forum.
Why must I complete a W-9 tax form?
Filling out a W-9 allows provides us your name and Social Security Number, or the name and Employer Identification Number of your business.
In submitting a W-9, you are certifying that the tax ID number you are providing is correct and accurate.
You also need to certify whether or not you are subject to backup withholding.
Most taxpayers are exempt from backup withholding.
The IRS might require backup withholding, however, if your name and tax identification number that you provide on the W-9 don't match with the IRS records.
YOU WILL NOT BE APPROVED AS AN AFFILIATE UNTIL AND UNLESS WE RECEIVE A CORRECTLY-COMPLETED W-9 FORM INCLUDING YOUR BUSINESS EIN OR YOUR PERSONAL SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.
Where do I get a W-9 form?
A: You can download a copy of the form at
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf?portlet=3.
DO NOT SUBMIT IT TO THE IRS. You must mail it to us instead, at:
Fight Like A Girl, LLC
295 Seven Farms Drive
Suite C, Box 138
Charleston, SC 29492
What is the commission rate?
As of 06/19/2009, our starting commission rate is 15% per sale.
This increases to 20% after your first 100 sales,
and then to 25% after your 500
th sale!
These rates are subject to change.
When and if we change the commission rates, we will post the changes and any other changes to the Terms of Agreement in the Affiliate Agreement itself, which is also posted as part of the sign-up process.
So, if I become an Affiliate, how do I know that I’ve received any commissions? And, how long does it take for me to receive the money?
You can apply to become an Affiliate by clicking the link “Getting Started” on this page.
You’ll be taken to a secure web page where you can fill out the application and review the Terms.
If you’re approved, you’ll be able to log in to check your account at that same page.
And, once deposits have been made to your PayPal account, you’ll be able to see them there as well.
Remember,
your organization gets its commission credits after a 30-day waiting period (to allow for the occasional product return and/or refund).
